Announcing Improvement in the Expanded Female Hormone Panel™ (eFHP™)
The Expanded Female Hormone Panel™ (eFHP™) adds evaluations of the pituitary hormones, follicle stimulating
hormone (FSH) and lutenizing hormone (LH), to the regular FHP™ for cycling women. Currently, five assessments
of each hormone are reported, centered around the estimated time of ovulation. These assessments are valuable
adjuncts in assessing a woman’s cycle for fertility and ovulation. Considering variations in the timing of
ovulation and the length the cycles exist, and they may not be covered by or included in the current five
reported hormone values, Diagnos-Techs™ will soon increase the number of values of FSH and LH reported to
the seven middle values. This improvement will provide a broader coverage of FSH and LH values to further
elucidate any vagaries encountered in a woman’s cycle.
August 2010
The following changes were implemented on some of our tests and panels.
Revision to Reference Ranges for Estradiol (E2) and Testosterone (TTF) for Women
As of August 28, 2010, Diagnos-Techs updated reference ranges for testosterone and estradiol
using more advanced salivary tests. New reference ranges have been established according to the
latest CLSI (Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute) guidelines.
Addition of Estradiol (E2) to Male Hormone Panels
Beginning August 20, 2010, Diagnos-Techs added estradiol (E2) to both regular and expanded Male
Hormone Panels without change to the current test fees. This will provide additional insight to total
estrogenic effects on prostate, breast tissue, libido and body mass composition.
