Post Menopausal Tests - General Notes & Tips

General Notes & Tips

Users of creams that contain Progesterone, DHEA, and Pregnenolone may have to discontinue use for at least 60-70 days. These hormones will store in the subcutaneous fat and cause excessive hormone levels in the tissue during and after use.

Women who have not menstruated for 2-3 years may still cycle their hormones and a single specimen is not always representative of their hormonal status due to fluctuating hormone levels.

When using sublingual hormone preparations (drops, powder, troche, beads, etc.), saliva collection must be performed before using the preparations for the day.

Normally, Testosterone values show a 24 hour circadian rhythm with highest values in the early morning and lowest at night. Testosterone levels are also affected by biosocial events.

Hot flushes are not necessarily indicative of low Estrogen but rathera severely fluctuating Estradiol level coupled with an ongoing low Progesterone output. Care must be taken to avoid overdosing with Estrogens in the hope of controlling somatic expressions of fluctuating Estrogens.

Constant low Estrogen levels produce minimal somatic symptoms as evidenced in men, prepubertal females, and women who are 10 years or more into post menopause.

When collecting samples for different saliva tests, avoid back to back collections. Allow 30-60 minutes between specimens.

Please note: We only perform tests upon the request of a licensed health care provider.
We do not perform tests through marketing firms, or health food stores, directly or indirectly.
