Long Post Menopausal Panel - PHP2 (Refer to Technical Bulletin 5 for instructions)
This panel employs two saliva specimens in the following order: The first
sample is random and used as a baseline for E1, E2, E3, P1, Testosterone,
and DHEA. For 5-7 days, a hormone challenge is given, i.e. a therapeutic
trial of one or more hormones is instituted. The hormone challenge should
reflect the estimated peak maintenance dosage to be used in a proposed
treatment plan. The second sample is collected on day 6 or 7. All six
hormones are measured again to assess the effect of the challenge. Clinical
Uses 1. Dose - response evaluation of HRT. 2. Tailoring of individual
HRT plans. 3. The test can be used in males ages 18 and above.
