Post Menopausal Hormone Panels
To assess the post-menopausal hormone status with accuracy, Diagnos-Techs Inc. employs three salivary profiles, the Short Panel, (Code PHP1), the Expanded Panel (Code ePHP1), and the Long Panel (Code PHP2). Salivary samples are used because of practical and scientific advantage over serum. Target Population The short and long post menopausal panels are done on random saliva samples in: 1.Non-cycling women with intact ovaries. A non-cycling woman usually has had NO Menstrual flow or spotting for 3-5 consecutive years. 2.Non-cycling women with total hysterectomy. 3.MEN of any age. This test is not intended for cycling women. Hormone assessment of cycling women is done using the 11 sample FHP to map the full cycle. Hormones Tested The free fractions (the biologically available portion of Estrone (E1), Estradiol (E2), Estriol (E3), Progesterone (P1), Testosterone, and DHEA are measured in both panels.
