Research and Development (R&D)/Production Laboratory Technician

Position Summary:

The R&D and Production Laboratory of DiagnosTechs, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated, positive and conscientious Production/Research Technician. This individual is expected to build clinical laboratory skills and knowledge, with a goal to achieve independence in assay component production, assay development, quality control (QC) and validation procedures.  Because of the critical timing of experimental methods, this position eventually may require occasional weekend work with compensatory time-off on a weekday.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct basic and advanced laboratory activities:  Generate and optimize ELISA (Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) methods and components, assist with sample preparation for ELISA, GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS analysis of small molecules in biological fluids, and perform assay development and validation studies.
  • Install, operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. Prepare reagents, solvents and solutions for analytical and production activities. Prepare and maintain accurate written records of all testing and production activities.
  • Participate in team project activities, support project timelines and proactively contribute to meeting the team objectives.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with team members.
  • Conduct laboratory work in accordance with SOPs; follow corporate safety rules and procedures.
  • Assist in the generation and revision of SOPs.
Required Qualification:
  • BS Degree, preferably in Biology, Chemistry, or related field
  • Adept at the use of single and multi-channel micropipettes
  • Computer literate and familiar with analytical and/or process equipment
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualification:
  • 2 years prior experience in CLIA laboratory or GMP facility.
  • Comfortable familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

Position Summary:

We are looking for a self-motivated, positive, and conscientious Shipping Agent.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform all tasks safely and efficiently according to adherence to safety procedures and policies.
  • Work closely with all DiagnosTechs and InterPlexus Departments to ensure quality service to all providers and patients.
  • Arrange for the shipping of kits to patients and providers.  When possible, ensure all orders are shipped the day order is received.
  • Assist in pulling stock inventory from offsite storage facilities for all DiagnosTechs/InterPlexus Departments.  Store and organize documents for DiagnosTechs Departments in offsite storage facilities.
  • Be proactive in identifying problems that may adversely affect the shipping process, notifying the department manager/supervisor, and correcting the problem as directed.  Be open to trying new ideas.
  • Complete all assigned duties and tasks within stated TAT (turnaround time) and notify the department manager/supervisor when goals will not be achieved.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area at all times.
  • Make sure supplies are ordered in a timely manner.

Analytical Chemist

Position Summary:

Self-motivated individual to support and develop our mass spectrometry laboratory and working group aimed at developing methods for the detection and discovery of clinical biomarkers in human fluids and developing the use of these markers into clinical applications.

Major Responsibility:
  • Initiates the design, development, execution and implementation of mass spectrometry methods to a broad range of clinical and research applications
  • Manages resources and personnel to efficiently meet project goals
  • Assists in establishing department goals and project timelines

Microbiology Technologist

DiagnosTechs is a pioneer and leader in saliva-based hormone testing. Our primary concern is to assist healthcare professionals in restoring patients’ health. We are renowned for our innovative products, services and solutions including diagnostic testing systems. The main purpose of the position is to assist the Director of Microbiology.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists with the verification of test procedures performed as directed by Microbiology Director
  • Maintaining a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed and established parameters for acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensuring the levels are maintained throughout the entire testing process
  • Assist in resolving technical issues and ensuring that the correct remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
  • Ensuring that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been and the test system is functioning properly.
  • Makes observations of routine patient test performance, including patient preparation, if applicable, specimen handling, processing and testing.
  • Assists with the monitoring the recording and reporting of test results
  • Ability to review intermediate test results or worksheets, quality control records, proficiency testing results and preventive maintenance records
  • Assists with observation of instrument maintenance and function checks
  • Can assist with the assessment of test performance through testing previously analyzed specimens, internal blind testing samples or external proficiency testing samples
  • Assist in the preparation for Laboratory Inspections by CAP, JACHO, etc.

Other duties will be assigned as required.

Minimum Education / Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in either Microbiology, Medical Technology, Bacteriology or related.
  • M(ASCP) certification or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of handling high complexity testing within the specialty of Microbiology including the subspecialty of Bacteriology and Molecular Biology.

Primary Responsibilities:

Laboratory Director

DiagnosTechs is a pioneer and leader in saliva-based testing. We are looking for a Laboratory Director who will be responsible for the overall operation and administration of the Laboratory.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assume overall responsibility for all laboratory processes as defined by administration
  • Serve as technical expert for the laboratory.  Be accessible to the laboratory and medical support staff during operating hours to answer questions, troubleshoot problems and participate in conference calls with providers or vendors.
  • Work closely with the Associate Laboratory Director, Laboratory Manager and Executive Committee to provide strategic plans and ideas to continuously improve the overall quality and services offered by the laboratory.  Develop new processes and procedures when necessary.
  • Review, develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure high quality and timely processing and reporting of clinical samples
  • Ensure the laboratory is adequately staffed for efficient management of workloads
  • Ensure that all personnel have the appropriate education, experience, and perform all training and testing to verify that they maintain competency to run laboratory tests
  • Daily review of results before release to physicians and providers
  • Ensure all laboratory personnel are performing test methods according to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that appropriate corrective actions are taken and documented if significant deviations from the laboratory’s established performance characteristics are identified
  • Make contributions to scientific literature, present at conferences and maintain an active involvement in all relevant scientific organizations.
  • Represent the laboratory at conferences and trade shows both in the United States as well as internationally
  • Assist in the selection and validation of new equipment for the laboratory
Requirements or Qualifications:
  • Established ability to evaluate and produce reliable results, problem-solve and troubleshoot complex laboratory problems.
  • Experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations.
  • Proficient in the use of various software programs, including Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
