Research and Development (R&D)/Production Laboratory Technician

Position Summary:

The R&D and Production Laboratory of DiagnosTechs, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated, positive and conscientious Production/Research Technician. This individual is expected to build clinical laboratory skills and knowledge, with a goal to achieve independence in assay component production, assay development, quality control (QC) and validation procedures.  Because of the critical timing of experimental methods, this position eventually may require occasional weekend work with compensatory time-off on a weekday.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct basic and advanced laboratory activities:  Generate and optimize ELISA (Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) methods and components, assist with sample preparation for ELISA, GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS analysis of small molecules in biological fluids, and perform assay development and validation studies.
  • Install, operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. Prepare reagents, solvents and solutions for analytical and production activities. Prepare and maintain accurate written records of all testing and production activities.
  • Participate in team project activities, support project timelines and proactively contribute to meeting the team objectives.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with team members.
  • Conduct laboratory work in accordance with SOPs; follow corporate safety rules and procedures.
  • Assist in the generation and revision of SOPs.
Required Qualification:
  • BS Degree, preferably in Biology, Chemistry, or related field
  • Adept at the use of single and multi-channel micropipettes
  • Computer literate and familiar with analytical and/or process equipment
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualification:
  • 2 years prior experience in CLIA laboratory or GMP facility.
  • Comfortable familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)

Shipping Agent

Position Summary:

Founded in 1987, DiagnosTechs is a pioneer and leader in saliva-based testing. Our commitment to assisting healthcare professionals in restoring patients’ health and wellness is unsurpassed with over 1.2 million specimens tested per year.

We are looking for a self-motivated, positive, and conscientious Shipping Agent.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform all tasks safely and efficiently according to adherence to safety procedures and policies.
  • Work closely with all DiagnosTechs and InterPlexus Departments to ensure quality service to all providers and patients.
  • Arrange for the shipping of kits to patients and providers.  When possible, ensure all orders are shipped the day order is received.
  • Assist in pulling stock inventory from offsite storage facilities for all DiagnosTechs/InterPlexus Departments.  Store and organize documents for DiagnosTechs Departments in offsite storage facilities.
  • Be proactive in identifying problems that may adversely affect the shipping process, notifying the department manager/supervisor, and correcting the problem as directed.  Be open to trying new ideas.
  • Complete all assigned duties and tasks within stated TAT (turnaround time) and notify the department manager/supervisor when goals will not be achieved.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area at all times.
  • Make sure supplies are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Display strong personal commitment to the overall success of the organization.  Demonstrate stewardship for the DiagnosTechs brand.  Encourage strong teamwork between departments.
  • Follow all standards and procedures related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Perform all other duties as requested.
Required Qualification:
  • High School diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED)
  • 3-5 Years Shipping Experience

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position.  May need to occasionally stay later or come in earlier to help with an urgent issue or coverage for vacations.  Typical hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am -5:00pm.

Analytical Chemist

Position Summary:

Self-motivated individual to support and develop our mass spectrometry laboratory and working group aimed at developing methods for the detection and discovery of clinical biomarkers in human fluids and developing the use of these markers into clinical applications.

Major Responsibility:
  • Initiates the design, development, execution and implementation of mass spectrometry methods to a broad range of clinical and research applications
  • Manages resources and personnel to efficiently meet project goals
  • Assists in establishing department goals and project timelines
  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories, and contributes to scientific literature and conferences
  • Assists in the coordination of interdepartmental activities and research efforts
Minimum Requirements or Qualifications:
  • PhD, chemistry or related field (relevant experience can substitute).
  • Broad knowledge of mass spectrometry instrumentation and associated applications
  • Strong instrumentation design and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Ability to dissect problems and projects into manageable tasks
  • Excellent group interaction skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to accurately plan and define projects
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities
Desired Qualifications:
  • Expert in MRM method development for small molecules using GCMS/MS and LCMS/MS instrumentation
  • Sufficient knowledge and experience to also contribute to ICP-MS and MALDI-TOF method development
  • Previous successful academic or industry experience mentoring technical staff
  • Experience working in GLP/GMP environment
  • Knowledge of CLIA
  • 2+ years industry experience preferred
